The Bluff, Encounter Bay, Victor Harbor. This photograph shows the small wooden wharf under the Bluff. The Bluff was created about 500 million years ago when magma was squeezed up from deep in the continental crust. The ensuing Ice Age caused granite boulders to move north thus smoothing the profile of the Bluff. Gold, silver, lead, copper and tin oxide were mined near the Bluff.
