H.E. Ding's truck on the Birdsville Track
One of a series of 38 photographs taken during a trip along the Birdsville Track in 1939, this image shows a truck for carrying sheep; the driver can be seen through the windscreen. The truck is one of Harry Ding's Leylands which were used out of Olary and Yunta.

One of a series of 38 photographs taken during a trip along the Birdsville Track in 1939, this image shows a truck parked at the top of a sand dune, with what looks like canvas (tent?) near bushes at the bottom of the dune. There are a number of footprints tracking between the truck and the base of the dune. Getting bogged on a sandhill on the return trip ended up becoming a camp site.
