On King William Road the triple fronted building housing the Swimming Baths can be seen. The Rotunda stands in Elder Park and the steeples of North Adelaide can be seen above the trees. South Australian Institute Building, North Terrace photographed between 1872-83. The southern half of this building was built in 1860 and is an example of a Victorian building in the Renaissance style. It was designed by EA Hamilton. The northern portion was built in 1900.

Torrens Lake, East of Adelaide Bridge - lake first used for boating July, 1881. The photograph depicts rowers standing in their boats looking at the photographer and many empty rowing boats moored along the banks of the lake (Sweet Adelaide 334).

Torrens Weir was opened 21 July 1881 and it transformed a string of muddy waterholes into a picturesque lake. The Torrens Lake Weir is of added interest as an early concrete gravity dam. The concrete is formulated with lime rather than cement.

Norman). Thomas Mugg was Micham's first school teacher. Originally he was a carpenter and joiner and was appointed teacher, a position he held for twenty years. He taught writing, reading and arithmetic to students aged three to fourteen. The school opened in 1847
