The iron ship 'Turakina' ex 'City of Perth, 1247 tons, in an unidentified port. [As City of Perth = iron ship, 1247 tons, ON60352, 232.5 x 35.4 x 22.2. Built 1868 (5) C. Connell and Co. Glasgow. Owners George Smith and Sons. Registered Glasgow, renamed Turakina in 1882 by the New Zealand Shipping Co. Ltd. Registered Lyttelton, register tansferred to London in 1888 and vessel sold in 1899 to Norwegians and renamed Elida and rigged as barque. Stranded at Timaru, NZ, when named City of Perth in May 1882, salvaged and returned to England for full repairs, and sold to New Zealand Shipping and renamed. Remained in New Zealand trade until sold in 1899. Made a famous run of about 14 days in company with and sometimes outdistancing the same owner's steamer Ruapehu in the southern Indian Ocean.]

The wooden ship 'Bulwark', 1332 tons, in an unidentified port. [wooden three mast ship, 1332 tons. ON46115, 198.7 x 40.2 x 23.9. Built 1862 New Brunswick. Owners: Smith and Co. reg. London, later John Fleming, reg. London. Made at least one voyage to New Zealand under charter to Shaw Savill and Co. Original ship rigged re-rigged as barque. Capsized Hobson's Bay and sold as a wreck in Aug. 1881. Raised and repaired. Owner: David Blair, timber merchant, reg. Melbourne. Argus May 4, 1882 reported the ship foundered on a voyage from Yokohama to Puget Sound and 18 lost].

Family and personal photographs of George R. Harrison including three of his uncle, the bass-baritone singer Peter S. Dawson. Eleven photographs in the series were kept by G.R. Harrison in his personal pocket-book while serving with the 31st Battery, 8th Field Artillery Brigade and, with it, were returned to his family at Henley Beach following his death. Twenty four photographs have been copied from an album belonging to his mother Mrs V.F. Harrison. A selection of the photographs have been digitised.

The wooden barquentine 'Kongsbyrd', 278 tons, in an unidentified port [wooden 3 mast schooner, later barquentine, 278 gross, 250 net tons. British ON112487. 120.1 x 26.9 x 12.4. Built 1874 F Smith Peterson, Grimstad, Norway who owned the vessel until 1900 when sold to Sydney owners, Messrs RS Lamb and Company, registered Sydney. c.1911 sold to D&S Sheehy who converted the vessel to a hulk. From 1900 till hulked employed in the trans-Tasman trades, usually coal to New Zealand and timber to Australia].
