Henry Kauper, engineer, and Lancelot Jones, electrical fitter, sitting beside a wireless receiver which is providing the music for the first Radio dance in South Australia. Given by the South Australian Division of the Wireless Institute of Australia in the Royal Institution for the Blind hall, North Adelaide, on Thursday 28 June 1923, the dance music was broadcast from the private wireless station at the home of Mr. Henry Lashbrooke Austin, electrician, of 8 The Parade, Norwood.

Memorial plaque for Captain Charles Sturt at Innamincka

Photograph of a plaque which is attached to a stone cairn in Innamincka, South Australia. The cairn was erected in memory of Charles Sturt, Burke, Wills, Gray and King. Inscription on the plaque: "Captain Charles Sturt discovered Cooper Creek about fifteen miles west of this place on 13 October 1845 in his attempt to reach the centre of Australia. His work prompted further exploration resulting in the pastoral occupation of this locality and Western Queensland. Erected 1944."

The bespectacled gentleman, second from right in the back row, is John Charles Neill who lived on Le Fevre Terrace and was manager of George Wills and Co for 52 years. Buildings visible behind include part of the R.A.& H. Society, the Exhibition Building and Elder Conservatorium of Music.
