Wanderers Hockey Club

Wanderers Hockey Club team photograph, in the 1940s. Players listed include Alf Cord, Brian Langsford, Bob Grant, Reg Dawson, Alan Zanke, and ? King. The Wanderers were a team that played between 1925 and 1949, at which time they merged with Westbourne Park, and Parkside, to form Sturt. Sturt then merged with Aroha in 1980 to form the Adelaide Hockey Club.

View looking east along Rundle Street as floats in the first John Martin's pageant in 1933 travel past the John Martin's store frontage. The closest float is 'the old Dreadnought again, which gave me many sleepless nights. That's Toby Hayward as a Spaniard stepping out across the road. You can see the Spanish set as well' [from caption on back but with no indication of the author]. There is a large crowd lining both sides of the street.
