"Several South Australians at the Keswick Barracks on January 15 were presented with the war and other decorations. The recipients were:- Distinguised Service Order, Col. Stanley Price Weir, D.S.O. V.D.(seated centre), commanding 19th Infantry Brigade. Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration, Lieut. Col. Thomas Hancock, V.D. (seated left), 23rd Light Horse Regiment. Croix de Guerre conferred by His Majesty the King of the Belgians for distinguished services rendered during the course of the campaign: 880 Company Sgt. Major J.L. Carey, 7th Battalion (standing left); 3013 Pte. A.H. Barrey, 27th Battalion. Military Medals awarded for bravery in the field: Second Lieut. W.A. Harry, 6th Field Artillery Brigade (seated right); 189 Sgt. A. Schofield, 12th Machine Gun Company; 4164 Cpl. T.S. Loxton, 48th Infantry Battalion; 67 Lce. Cpl. R.W. Lawson, 15th Field Company Engineers; 2043 Pte. O.E. Winter, 50th Infantry Battalion; 4196 Pte. B.L. Woods, 48th Infantry battalion."
