Historical information

George Lee had a distinguished army career including service in the South African War, he was Commandant of military forces in Tasmania, Queensland, and New South Wales; he was appointed aide-de-camp to the governor-general 1915-1920 and retired from the army in 1920 with the honorary rank of Lieutenant General.
