'The German steamer 'Sommerfeld', which arrived at Port Adelaide on Friday last, cleared the Customs on Tuesday for Melbourne and Sydney. The work of discharging about 350 tons of general cargo has been done satifactorily within the barricade of the Copper Company's wharf'. SOURCE: South Australian Register, 15 October 1890. The 'Sommerfeld' also visited Adelaide in March 1890.

Hineston; some carry tennis racquets and two dogs, a terrier and a dalmatian, are in the foreground. According to researcher Dr. Matthew Stephen, this image depicts a 'mock' memorial. All the men mentioned on it are actually alive at the time. It might be a 'present' of some kind, a special occasion from the Palmerston 'lads'.
