Railway round house, Port. Augusta. Engines can be seen housed in the engine sheds that surround the turntable or wheelhouse. Insufficient space enabled the turntable to turn the engines around for a return trip.

A solid water tank is joined to the house to catch any rainwater in this hot and dry climate. A rooster is standing in the shade next to the tank.
