Captain Francis Cadell

Captain Francis Cadell was born in Scotland and later established steam navigation of the River Murray. He negotiated with the South Australian Government to provide a bonus for the first two iron steamers to travel up the Murray to the Darling Junction. Later he navigated his way down the river onboard the "Lady Augusta", landing at Port Elliot.
