27th Battalion Football Team
Members of the 27th Battalion football team which defeated the 10th Battalion team, 10 goals 5 to 4 goals 5, on Adelaide Oval in front of a crowd of 35,000 spectators on 19 July 1919 as part of Peace Day celebrations. The 'Chronicle' lists the players in the team and the following have been identified by a researcher as follows: Back row (from left): unknown, H.J Harden, C.C. Eldridge, B. Donnell [Albert George?], unknown, F. S. Nelson, S.S. Woods, A.W. Colman, W.R.G Colman, unknown. Middle row (from left): C.S. Kneebone, unknown, [Captain P.G. Bice], C.L. Dayman (captain), R.G. Horwood (vice-captain), [Major W.S. Hosking], P.F. Frost, unknown. Front row (from left): P. Crowley, O.L. Ross, unknown, unknown, A.S. Ebbs, unknown.
