Yalpara Homestead

Yalpara homestead, Yalpara Station was a sheep grazing pastoralist property in the Lower North East of South Australia near Orroroo. The property situated 35 kilometres from Orroroo and 260 kilometres from Adelaide covers bush, watercourses and grass country on the Hillpara Creek. John Ragless was a pioneer on the property in 1857. The photograph shows a solid brick building with two outhouses with sloping roofs facing into a central courtyard. Ladies, children, men on horseback, a heavy cart pulled by four carthorses and a dog appear in the photograph.
