Samuel Freeman's cottage. He was an early pioneer arriving in 1850 from London, he died in 1899. During the Victorian goldrush he was a miner and policeman, later became a farmer and fishmonger (at Lake Alexandrina).

Methodist Church, Mt. Barker. The Dunn Memorial Church was built in 1881. A kindergarten hall was erected nextdoor. John Dunn arrived in South Australia in 1840 and fulfilled a life long ambition of becoming a miller. He erected his first mill in the Hay Valley and later another mill at Mount Barker. From these small beginnings he prospered and he eventually owned eleven mills making his business the largest milling firm in the colony. He was elected to Parliament in 1857 and is remembered as a great townsman and benefactor.

Steam locomotive at the Railway Station. A carriage of livestock can be seen behind the engine and tender. The Mount Barker Railway Station was opened in 1883 and was built of Aldgate freestone. It housed the stationmaster and a ticketing office. It was a station on the Victor Harbor line.

Alexander Law, Presbyterian minister of Mt Barker. He was inducted to the pastorate on March 24, 1863. Mr Law resigned from Mount Barker after 14 years service on March 24, 1877 when Monarto was separated from Mount Barker and became a separate charge with Mr Law as its minister.
