A collection of mounted photographs relating primarily to exploration and maritime topics in South Australia and the Northern Territory, together with a small collection of portraits of people associated with the Royal Geographical Society. Two group portraits of Aboriginal people, from Port Lincoln and from Kopperamanna are included (photographs 9 and 15). Photographs 67-70 relate to the Flinders Centenary 1902. Photograph album of the Parker and Davidson Families
The album shows aspects of station life at various sheep properties in the far north east of South Australia and the Broken Hill region, among them Buckalow, Bimbowrie, Oulnina Park, Telechie, Burta, Topar, Tantallon and Yalcowinna as well as visits to other stations in New South Wales and Victoria namely Morundah, Widgeongully and Tolarno. Three young women thought to be Grace Langloh Parker (1895-1987) and her sisters Wilga Maud (1898-?) and Una Geraldine Davidson, nee Parker (1901-1986) are central to many of the photographs and it may be that the album was compiled by Grace Parker. Holiday visits were made to Victor Harbor, Port Elliot, Inman Valley, Second Valley, Mount Gambier, Portland Victoria, Sydney and Tasmania. A number of photographs relate to the BHP towns, Iron Knob and Broken Hill. Two of the Parker daughters, thought to be Wilga and Grace, accompanied their Mother on a voyage from Sydney to the Celebes and Java in 1926, including sightseeing at Macassar in the Celebes, the Mount Bromo Volcano, Sand Sea, Borobodur, and other places in Java with the homeward voyage via Singapore, Port Darwin, Thursday Island and Cairns.
Album of portraits of the Lovelock, Meyer and other families
Album containing portraits of Meyer and Lovelock family members. Kelly, Genery, Herbert, Polhill, Sanders, Clayton, Ramsay, Gerrard and other families are included. Some families appear to be from the Yankalilla area. It is not known who compiled the album. To view images, take the Browse Album link. The album provides examples of carte-de visite and cabinet portraiture of many Adelaide photographers of the 1870s to 1890s, as well as good examples of the clothing and dress fashion of the day. The photographers are noted in brackets after the caption, where they are known. Photograph 26 shows a person in military uniform with a distinctive pill box cap, possibly the uniform of the Mounted Volunteer Corps of the Volunteer Militia. The album has a hand sewn cream suede cover, with rudimentary embroidery done in an acorn and leaf pattern. Additional research was carried out by Anthony Laube, who believes the album probably belonged to Mrs Lovelock. His additional information is shown in square brackets.

Folder, Barker and Ward and Captain William Tulloch and registered at Hobart. Wrecked 23 October 1905 on Danger Reef, Otago NZ. General work before sale to Australia, usually in the coal trade when owned in Port Adelaide, and used for the transport of Tasmanian timbers until wrecked, after sale to Hobart].
