Robert Fotheringham
[General description] This is a sepia portrait of Robert Fotheringham in an oval frame. Robert and Thomas Fotheringham took over the family brewery along with their brother James. James and his brother Alexander arrived in the colony in 1838 and participated in the special survey of Gawler area by Light Finiss and Co. Their father David operated a whiskey distillery in Cambus Scotland. Along with brothers George and David, breweries were established by the brothers in Gawler, Kapunda and South Africa.

Trinity Church, North Terrace, Adelaide
[General description] Holy Trinity is the first Anglican Church in South Australia, its foundation stone being laid by Governor Hindmarsh on 26th January 1838. There have been alterations to the building over the years but the clock, installed in 1838 has remained in place. It was originally intended for the yet unbuilt Town Hall. King William Street looking south. The photograph was taken between 1879-83. Adelaide Town Hall is dominant with the lack of a clock face prominent. Across the street stands the Post Office Building. There are horses and carriages lined up in the street patiently waiting for owners.

Methodist Church, Pirie Street
Methodist Church, Pirie Street in 1933. The church is located behind the Adelaide Town Hall and was built in 1850 by Perryman and Son. It was opened in 1851 and later, in 1969, Pirie Street Methodist Church merged with Stow Congregational Church to became part of the newly formed Uniting Church.
