Aboriginal didgeridoo (dijeridu)
Didgeridoo made of eucalypt hollowed out by Coptermes termites, species Ascinaciformis, mouthpiece covered with ring of wax (probably beeswax), painted with red ochre, white pipe clay, black (probably charcoal) and yellow ochre natural pigments, and cross hatching indicating it is from the Groote Eylandt area. A researcher suggests that it is probably from Milingimbi, NT rather than Groote Eylandt. Also, the researcher believes that it is likely to have been painted by David Malangi.

Original buildings in central foreground. Last year's effort just behind base of large aerial sleeping quarters, extending beyond LH [left hand] edge. Note dust behind Landrover arriving with school kids. George's tent at RHS [right hand side]. "Main St, Coober to city" at foot of distant hills incidently note dead flat hill tops, and rocky slope in foreground with some vegetation'. [This is a duplicate of photo 34 but has a different caption.]
