Korean War veterans were the last group in the 1954 ANZAC Day march held on 26 April. The contingent included RAAF and Army members marching behind the United Nations banner, carried by an Aboriginal serviceman. Most men in the group wear the Korean Medal and the United Nations Medal. Colonel W.C.N. Waite, mounted on a white horse, was the chief marshal for the march. The parade is turning from King William Street into Rundle Street. A young boy watches from close range.

She was 5 years old when her family arrived in South Australia aboard the 'Winchester' in 1838. Eliza never married, rarely left her home, and died on 29 November 1923. An interview with Eliza, relating her memories of Rose Park in the 19th Century, its vegetation and Aboriginal population, appears in The Observer, 10 February 1923, columns D and E.

The head of a man with the initials ROH which has been carved on to a tree used by Aborigines to cut out a canoe, possibly in north western South Australia. It is thought to be a memorial to explorer Robert O'Hara Burke, carved on a tree at Cooper Creek, located 30 metres from the 'Dig Tree'. The work was executed by John Dick, a travelling photographer, and his wife Minnie Ghyn Thompson in November 1898. This photograph was published in the 'Observer', Saturday 7 September 1912, page 30.
