Collection of several hundred 3" x 4" glass plates negatives taken around Adelaide by Theo Bachmann ca.1915-1950. Originally housed in labelled sleeves with an index, they feature the Bachmann and Plunket families, as well as more general scenes. The original envelope number is shown in square brackets after the description of each image, and can be cross-referenced to the index (see B 71826/656. Images 101-200 feature family picnics, The Botanic Gardens, views around Belair and Waterfall Gully, and scenes around the suburbs.

Photograph album compiled by Bob McGhee, featuring photos mostly of life in the Middle East (Jerusalem, Palestine, Haifa, Tel-a-Viv, Hadet, Cairo, Bethlehem, Tripoli, Mombasa, Alexandria, Syria) but also including a few war photos from Tobruck, and photos from Durban (acquired on his return to Australia?). Many of them seem to have been produced for the tourist market. Inside the front cover is an inscription 'To dear May / wishing you a Happy Birthday / 4th June 1941 Bob'. In the bottom left hand corner is 'SX 7038 / Sgt. R. P. McGhee'. [May was his his wife]. Album was lent for copying by the State Library of South Australia.

Monument in Nairne cemetery in memory of members of the Smillie family. This monument remembers Matthew Smillie (1762-184)7, his widow Elizabeth Corse Nairne died 1861. The monument was erected by the widow of Matthew Smillie's son The Hon. William Smillie (1810-1852).

Right side of McNeill's is 31 yards west of Synagogue Place.

[General description] Looking east along Hindley Street with Brewery buildings silhouetted against the sky. The mixed styles of the buildings form an irregular outline. [On back of photograph] 'Acres 55-68 / Hindley Street, south side / 8th April 1939 / Complete Hindley Street frontage of West End Brewery / The buildings on both the west and east ends were erected in 1938 / Compare with B 3179 / The near side of brewery abuts Gray Street and extends eastward from that point for a distance of 184 yards'.

This cottage faces Gray Street and is at a distance of 24 yards from it. The right side of cottage is 71 yards south of Currie Street. The small cottage has a porch over the front door and is surrounded by a picket fence. The land in front of the cottage is unmade and covered with weeds.
