Historical information

Neville Kennedy was disabled from birth with a type of muscular Dystrophy and needed a wheelchair; although he only attended primary school to year five, he was able to learn skills in motor mechanics and electronics which enabled him to fix his own electric wheelchair; in 1981 he surveyed the entire Adelaide square mile and provided the results of that survey to the Adelaide Council; he stood for Council four times while residing in the City, mainly in an attempt to improve access to buildings and footpaths.
