Historical information

Lance Corporal Noel Stanley Errington, No. SX8234, born on 7 March 1918 in Freeling, South Australia, youngest son of Alfred Thomas Errington and Hilda (nee Sleadar). Enlisted in Adelaide on 6 July 1940 and served with 2/43 Battalion, 9 Division in the Middle East. He was discharged in January 1945. Enganged to Jean Dawn Humby, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E.A. Humby, of Forest Gardens, in August 1944. Their children include Peter Wayne born 19 September 1946, Grantley Noel born 25 July 1949, Brenton Craig 10 October 1952 (served Armed Forces 1969-1993), Noelene Gail 14 September 1956, Ian James 5 April 1958, and Sharon Kay 26 June 1959.
