Winston Churchill visiting Sainte-Croix-sur-Mer Airfield.
Winston Churchill on a morale boosting visit to the St. Croix-sur-Mer Airfield in Normandy, France, on 23 July 1944. He gave a speech and visited troops in the area. The airfield was used by RAF 144 and 146 Wings until it was dismantled in September 1944. Dennis Newman stood to the right of Churchill, and Rod Davidge fourth from right of him.
