Historical information

There were three Raus who worked as taxidermists at the South Australian Museum. C.G.A Rau [commonly referred to as Otto Rau] served as taxidermist from 1883 till his death in 1927. His brother Ferdinand Julius Rau [commonly referred to as John Rau] became senior taxidermist in 1928 until his retirement in 1936. Allan Rau [son of John] served as taxidermist from 1929 until sometime in the 1950s. It is unclear if Allan Rau was also referred to by other names.
