Historical information

John Kelly was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1819. Emigrated to South Australia with his sister Mary Kelly (1813-1872) and brother James Kelly (1823-1905) aboard the 'Lady Bute' in 1839. Worked as a farmer and land agent after his arrival. Resided at Inverbrackie and then Marryatville. Married Agnes Cock (ca.1828-1848) in 1847, Isabella Cowman (?-1866) in 1861 and Isabella Anderson (ca.1838-1891) in 1872. Had a daughter by his first marriage, three sons by his second, and two daughters and a son by his third. Died in 1892.
