Summary

Watercolour painting of ship 'Hero', by C. Dickson Gregory. Label on back has: 'SS "Hero" 983 tons built at Hull 1861 Owned by the Union S S Co of NZ Later woned [sic] at New Caledonia where she became a hulk and broken up. Drawing by C. Dickson Gregory [all in typescript] Maloga Aboriginal Mission NSW Bell last used at Gerard Mission SA Janet Norman nee Matthews [all in pencil] Gowan Pridhouse from Auntie Alma The Ship the Maloga BELL came from 1880' [handwritten in ink]. A separate label underneath has: '9/5/46 Mitcham' with traces of red wax [presumed date of this artwork]
