Log book of John White

Log book, 24 July 1836 - 8 September 1836 of John White's voyage to South Australia on the 'Tam O'Shanter'. The remainder of of the volume contains accounts and notes for work done, in particular for the Colonisation Commissioners, together with food rations (issued? received?) on a daily basis. The volume also has a large number of notes inserted throughout.

John White's home at Reed Beds, Fulham

John White's original home at Fulham Farm, Reed Beds. White built the house himself, using material brought out from England, with the exception of the roof which was covered with reeds from the 'Reed Beds'. An annotation on the back of one of the attributes the photograph to one of White's sons - 'original negative taken by G.S. White', but all prints are on cabinet photo card of Federal Art Studio, Gresham Chambers, King William St., Adelaide.

In memoriam card for Barbara White

In memoriam card for Barbara White (nee Willingale), in the form of a photographic print pasted onto a cabinet card. It features photographs of her original home at Fulham, the Wesleyan Chapel at Fulham (built by her husband, John White, with the family vault nearby), together with a contemporary portrait. The inscription reads 'In loving memory of Barbara White who peacefully passed over 30th August, 1899, in her 100th year, at "Holmfirth", Fulham, South Australia, at her daughter's residence, and was quietly placed in the family vault at Fulham on 31st August beside the remains of her Husband, who predeceased her by nearly 40 years. [Followed by verse].
