Y class locomotive No.91 was built by Beyer, Peacock & Co., of Manchester, England. It entered service in 1888 and was condemned in 1956. According to a researcher, this is SAR broad gauge locomotive R 91, Builder: Dubs & Co. Glasgow Scotland, Builders: No. 2140, Inservice: 10-2-1886, Rebuilt to Rx: 20-12-1910, Condemned: 2-7-1935, not SAR narrow gauge locomotive Y 91.
