Summary

A guard of honour inspection during a function at Adelaide Oval; different groups of bandsmen stand in the background near a platform which advertises a "popular unit competition". The two men on the far right of the line of soldiers being inspected are Sergeant Major Carey (2nd from left, wearing a Croix de Guerre) and W.O. Pritchard (on end of line, wearing his Distingushed Conduct and Military Medals).

There are references to both Carey and Pritchard at this event in 'The Mail', Saturday 5 April 1919, page 2; a photo of them with others also appeared in 'The Mail', Saturday 19 July 1919, page 3. This photo was taken from the same vantage point and only a short time after PRG 280/1/15/569.
