Summary

A stationary South Australian Railways N class 53 locomotive. Built in 1880 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia, it was rebuilt by the SAR to resemble the RX class in 1904. In this photograph the N 53 has just been rebuilt and painted in 'work's grey' (matte grey).
