Summary

The morning of 11 March 1924 large crowds welcome 1600 men of the Royal Navy Special Service Squadron, that visited Adelaide between 10 March and 15 March 1924, as they march along King William Street in front of the Town Hall where the Governor, Sir Tom Bridges, and Admiral Sir Frederick Field, took the salute.

General notes

The Special Service Squadron comprised; HMS Hood, HMS Repulse, and five ships of the Light Cruiser Squadron; HMS Danae, HMS Dauntless, HMS Delhi, HMS Dragon and HMS Dunedin. HMAS Adelaide joined the Squadron in Sydney in April for the remainder of its world cruise via the Pacific and North America to Portsmouth, England.
