General notes

Searcy's caption was 'The ford below Government House in 1836 (drawn by Col. Light).' Image identical to PRG 50/37/1 and B 4941. According to Wilson and Borrow in 'The Bridge over the Ocean' (1973), lithographs of this view and others by Mary Hindmarsh were made in England in 1838.
