Historical information

The casket measures 13 inches long, by 8 inches wide, by 10 inches high. The foundation is of River Banksia with a veneer of curly jarrah; the inlay is sandalwood and the inside of the box is grooved and fitted with thin samples of Western Australian timbers. The Western Australian Government coat of arms is represented by the central carving with its motto 'Cygnis Insignis' beneath.
