Historical information

Tommy Burns, born Noah Brusso, was a Canadian who was world heavyweight champion from 1906 to 1908. He lost the title in Sydney when he was defeated in the fourteenth round of this fight by Jack Johnson. Johnson was world heavyweight champion from 1908 to 1915 and lost only 7 of 114 professional fights. From the Chronicle newspaper Saturday 2 January, 1909, page 29.
