Distant view of an Australian Rules football match being played on the Adelaide Oval, Saturday May 22nd 1920 between North Adelaide, in the hooped guernsey, and West Torrens, in the guernsey with a sash. The scoreboard is showing the three-quarter time score: West Torrens 7 goals 7 behinds, 49 points, North 5 goals 5 behinds 35 points. Final scores were West Torrens 8 goals 8 behinds, 56 points to North Adelaide 6 goals six behinds, 42 points. North won the premiership in 1920 and West Torrens finished third. Number 13 for North is their Vice-Captain Glyn Trescowthick, 17 is S. Wallis and 6 is Russell Fuss. For West Torrens, number 13 is L. Marvel, 15 C. O'Loughlin, 7 E. Daviess, 1 their Captain Stan Patten and 2 their Vice-Captain B. Johnson. Names from the Football Budget May 22nd 1920. St. Peter's Cathedral is in the background. The crowd in attendance numbered 12,000.
