Summary

Two concrete tower-ships passing through the harbour entrance at Shoreham, England in September 1920; they were originally intended for use during World War I, their role was changed to that of defence of the Solent where the hulls were sunk to rest on the ocean bed and the towers rise sixty feet above sea level at high tide.
