General notes

There are references to tobacco growing at Yanco Experimental Farm in the 'Sydney Morning Herald' of Monday 23 September 1912 (now digitised by the National Library of Australia on its TROVE website). The Leeton Family & Local History Society has information and pictures of the Tobacco Barn erected by Mr Gornitzka on the 50 acre experimental farm that was granted to him as per above article. The tobacco barn is still standing.
