Small diary written in the 1770s by Joseph Aldersey (born October 1723). Joseph Aldersey was the Grandfather of Richard Baker Aldersey, who was Mary Ainsley Aldersey's father. The diary records his family tree and a number of small incidents in England, including: himself and his son being attacked on the road and surviving by the 'Mercy of God' with only minor injuries; details of a robbery and murder; and description of his daughter at boarding school attempting to jump from her chest of drawers onto her bed, falling and injuring her leg, but not badly. All are examples of 'the protecting kindness and goodness of the Lord'. [PRG 1806/4/28] • Manuscript
