Summary

Three lengths of the purple suspension ribbon (original pre-1936 pattern) for the neck decoration of the Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (Civil). Both Ross and Keith Smith were knighted and awarded KBE's in recognition of valuable service rendered to aviation by successfully flying from England to Australia.
