Letter from Ross to his mother, Jessie Smith, during his active service during World War I. Written in Aboukir, Egypt, 7th and 8th July 2017. Mentions doing aerial gunnery part of flying training course, flying at 10,000 feet for bomb dropping training, flying stunts, and going sailing on a Sunday leave day. Also speaks of the 3rd Light Horse camped ready to move at any moment, and a list of suitable comforts which could be sent for the regiment, and the naming of the Australian Mounted Division consisting of the 3rd, 4th and 5th Light Horse Brigades.
