Historical information

No. 3695 Driver Harrold Leslie Cole, eldest son of James Cole (1870-1953) and Marianne Long (1875-1949) of Caltowie, South Australia. He was working as a farm labourer in Caltowie before he enlisted with the AIF on 6 April 1915. He served with the 7th Infantry Brigade, 7th Field Ambulance, Section B, embarking from Adelaide on board the HMAY A2 'Geelong' on 31 May 1915, serving in Gallipoli and France, before he returned to Australia on 2 March 1919.
