Summary

Featuring a black and white illustration of a bomb headed towards a young man in a ruined house in a devestated French village. Caption reads: 'Situation shortly vacant. In an old-fashioned house in France an opening will shortly occur for a young man, with good prospects of getting a rise'. Addressed to Maynard Cole, written by No. 2160 Private Horace William George (husband of Maynard's sister Claudia Alice Cole), 48th Battalion, describing waiting in camp before being posted to the Front.
