People queue to gain entry to Taubmans House of Ideas. On the corner of Henley Beach Road and William Avenue, Henley Beach, the house was opened by the Premier, Sir Thomas Playford, on Thursday 17 October 1957. 9,000 people visited the house on the first weekend.
