Portrait photograph of William Leonard (Len) Fitzsimons when he was a young boy. Born in Clare in 1895, he was a farmer in Mercunda in the Mallee Region. He volunteered to fight in World War I at age 20 in 1915, and was killed in action in France on 5 November 1916.
