Summary

Harry Watson and his wife Adelaide Elizabeth (nee Menz) gathered with their children and grandchildren at 'Kandaha', Plympton. It is thought to have been taken on their 50th wedding anniversary in 1936, but the ages of the children suggest that is is some years earlier. The couple married on 27 March 1886, and had nine children - Jack (died aged 10 weeks), Stanley, Fred, Lucy, Phoebe Madeline, Arthur, Benjamin, Adelaide Rita and Jean. Historical information

Stanley Watson married Leila McBride in 1911, and had three children - Margaret, Ruth and Donald. Stanley built Watson's pier at Gallipoli. Fred Watson married Vera Spiers in 1920 with whom he had 3 children - Keith, Harry and Ian. Lucy Watson married Murray Shearer in 1914, and had 3 sons - Benjamin, Robert and Peter. Benjamin was a pilot in WW2 and killed at that time.Madeline (christened Phoebe Madeline and known as Madge) married Howard Shannon in 1915 and had 4 children - Margaret, Aileen, David and Jonathon. David was a dambuster in WW2. Howard Shannon was a State MP for the Hills area. Arthur married Dulcie Mobbs in 1823 and had 3 sons - John, Graham and Richard. Benjamin married Anita Austin in 1928 with whom he had daughter Elizabeth. Rita (christened Adelaide Rita) married Horace Goscombe in 1926 and had one son (at this time) David. Jean married Peter Sellars in 1934.
