General notes

A photograph from the papers of Ray (William Raymond) Holman. See PRG 1489.

Historical information

William Raymond Holman worked as a Jackaroo and later as overseer on Yardea Station (150 miles west of Port Augusta). From here he went to Neylambo Station in NSW, north of Wilcannia on the Darling River. In 1938 he went to Lucindale and began farming life. His wife Cora Esther Holman (nee Kelly) and his first child Helen joined him there later, in 1940. Two more children were born; Joan (1942) and Mark (1943).
