The steel ship 'Sierra Miranda', 1888 tons, docked in an unidentified port [steel ship, 1888 tons, ON87957, 264.7 x 39.1 x 23.9. Built 1884 (3) J Reid and Co., Port Glasgow. Owners: Thompson, Anderson and Co., (Sierrra Shipping Co.) registered Liverpool. c.1907,sold to Norway but not renamed. c.1921/2 sold and renamed 'Maria Borges', owned by Brown, Willis and registered at Panama. Sunk at anchor in Hampton Roads, USA in 1922].

One of the ships owned by The Sierra Line / Thompson, Anderson and Co., Liverpool.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
