Summary

The four masted iron barque 'Drummuir', 1844 tons, at Sydney on 13.7.1911 [iron 4 mast barque 1844 tons. ON86233, 270.5 x 39.2 x 24.0. Built 1882 (8) WH Potter and Son, Liverpool. Owners Gillison and Chadwick, registered Liverpool. Later Ship Drummuir Co. (Western Commercial Co.) registered Victoria BC, early in WW1 to James Rolph, registered San Francisco. Captured by Germans in WW1 and scuttled].

One of the ships owned by the Drum Line / Gillison and Chadwick, Liverpool.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
