'Ocean Ranger' wooden barquentine 234 tons. In dock at Port Chalmers [wooden 3 mast brigantine, 234 tons, ON56810, 113.0 x 24.1 x 14.2. Built 1867. Elias Cox, Bridport, Dorset. Owners: First registered London May 1881 CW Turner; registered Lyttelton Oct. 1888 Henry Guthrie and others; registered Dunedin, thence other Dunedin owners until John Mill, stevedore, coal merchant and bunkering agent acquired the vessel. She was converted into a hulk in the early 1900s and register was closed in 1925]

Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
