Summary

'Casablanca' iron barque 569 tons. [iron barque, 610 tons. ON58905, 172.1 x 28.0 x 17.5. Built 1868 (6) T Royden and Sons, Liverpool. Owners Nicholson and McGill, registered Liverpool early 1890's JC Page registered Liverpool then other Liverpool owners until sold to Auckland in 1906 and owned by WH Heays, until 1909, then others until 1912 when it was converted into a coal hulk by Melbourne Steam Ship Company and registered at Melbourne. The registry was closed in 1950 with the notation Broken Up.]

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
