Summary

'Yolande' wooden barquentine 415 tons [wood barquentine rigged sailing vessel, 415 gross 391 net tons.ON85785. 140.6 x 31.0 x 12.8. Built 1883 DA Campbell, Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. First registered at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. March 1884 to Auckland owners (GW Owen), in 1891 sold to Melbourne; 1894 transferred to Sydney and in May 1895 CG Arnold, registered the vessel in Wellington. Totally lost at Westport, New Zealand August 20, 1897]

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
